4.1 - Who may attend?

Although this conference is open to the public, organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone without reason.

4.2 - What is the entry price?

The entry fee for RUXCON 2006 will be $50 for the 2 day weekend. Please make an effort to bring the exact amount.

An entry fee is required so that we can cover costs associated with hiring the venue, equipment, administration and supply expenses. The conference itself remains a non-profit venture and in the event that there is a profit on door entry, the money will be put straight back into the conference or donated to a charity.

The fee will be payable in cash at the entrance gates. Please note there is no EFTPOS / CC facilities at RUXCON, there is however several ATM machines close to the venue. Each day you will be assigned a coloured wristband, which you will be required to display during your stay at the conference. Further information about this will be available on the day.

4.3 - What should I bring?

Most importantly, bring yourself. The opportunity to purchase food and drink will be available at the venue so bring sufficient money if you wish to buy anything. More information, including general pricing for the UTS Bar is available in the Venue section of the site.

You are invited to bring your own computer so you are able to connect to the network (RUXLAN) and participate. If you wish to participate in the LAN via Cat5 please make the effort to bring your own short (1-3m) UTP cable. It is important that you label or engrave your equipment so it does not get misplaced or confused with someone elses belongings.

RUXLAN will have various competitions and activities held for attendees. There will also be a FTP server sharing security related files (Packetstorm mirror, OpenSource O.S's, etc) on the LAN.

4.4 - Is there any information available for attendees travelling from interstate or overseas?

RUXCON Staff realise that some attendees may be travelling from interstate, or in some cases overseas. Therefore, the Travellers section on the site has been prepared for such people. This page has been created for two main reasons.

Firstly, to become a central location to help organise cheap and reliable methods of transport to Sydney for RUXCON with others in similar situations as yourself.

Secondly, to provide information about Sydney. Information on accommodation, bars, public transport, etc. has been collected and organised for people wishing to become more familiar with Sydney.
